A Little History.
For those history buffs, I am fifth generation Kansan, my great, greats having traveled cross country
by ox-cart wagon via Pennsylvania and Minnesota to homestead in south central Nebraska and
central Kansas (between Wichita and Hutchinson). I graduated from Colorado Women’s College (a two-year college) in
Denver, Colorado and Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois (BS). After graduation I gladly
hitched a ride with friends on their way to New York City, my home base ever since.
My professional background is in marketing and communications, specializing in all media
(print and broadcast) whose focus is recreational sports and the visual arts. After some years of
working corporately for magazine publications owned by Ziff-Davis, CBS Publishing, and Times
Mirror, I left the corporate world to become a sole proprietor, offering consulting services for creative
projects and event management to the recreational sports industry and the visual arts.
I continue to photograph plus use my event management skills to produce professional photography workshops and seminars both domestic and in internationally locations.
I also produce such diverse events as the annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in N.Y. to
entertainment programs for corporate and non-profit’s special events
As a professional photographer. I continue to develop my photography base and have assignments from
a wide variety of companies for photojournalism, portraits and events. My photographs have been exhibited
in galleries and corporate spaces known for their art collections; they have been published and are in
I am currently a member of Women in Communications (WICI), New York Women’s Agenda (NYWA)
Additionally I belong to the national photography association ASMP and PWP (Professional Women
Photographers) where I was a long time board member and the executive editor of their magazine.
I produce the PWP’s professional workshops and seminars and head up the committee to liason with the international membership.
I have served as an officer on the board of my real estate coop for more than 20 years. Among other duties I liason with top level people in the various city agencies and elected officials.
I was an active volunteer in the Hillary Clinton campaign for President and traveled to a number of states
to help in that effort. I continue to work on selected campaigns both state and national level.
